Bible Story Videos and Templates for the Tibetan Buddhist World

There are literally hundreds of tribes that are Tibetic in nature. Only a very few of these tribes have access to any Biblical or other Christian material.

Even in cases where written materials exist, many speakers of the language cannot use them because of illiteracy or because the spoken language significantly differs from the written language.

The HisStory series of stories consists of 63 stories found in the Christian Bible across the Old and New Testaments. The intention is that these stories will be helpful in strengthening believers and in helping believers to reach out to others in a culturally relevant format.

These materials are for Tibetans by Tibetans

The materials on this site fulfill two purposes:

  • It is a repository that contains completed audio (MP3) and video (MP4) that may be distributed on other media.

  • It contains templates that may be used to create Bible stories videos in other languages.

The templates provide a framework for presenting the 63 stories in the format of a verse-by-verse retelling of scripture. 

The templates are in Powerpoint. The choice of Powerpoint is for the following reasons:

  • It is a mature product that is well-known and that has much training and support.

  • It is easy to use without the steep learning curve of video editing software.

  • It provides all the functionality and control needed to make simple videos.

  • It does not require a high-end multimedia computer to produce videos.

These materials are freely available for others to make their own videos. For more information about the conditions for usage, see the About page.

Current Status of the Site

Currently, the site contains the full set of of 62 Tibetan stories. This includes the Tibetan MP3s and MP4s and their YouTube links. Thanks to the kind permission of Central Asia Fellowship (CAF) we will soon be publishing the Tibetan PowerPoints too.

The English Powerpoint templates are all available on the site.

The Hindi and Kham materials are being published as they become available.

Future vision

In the longer term, we aim to inlude new languages, MP3s amd MP4s and also include templates in more languages, especially major trade languages.
